FURIA add honda as sixth player

The 20-year-old is in for a baptism of fire as he will make his first appearance with the team in the BLAST Premier Global Final.

FURIA have announced that they have moved Lucas “honda” Cano from their academy lineup to the main squad as a sixth player. The 20-year-old has travelled to Europe with his Brazilian teammates ahead of the BLAST Premier Global Final, in which he will replace Paytyn “junior” Johnson due to passport issues.

honda had joined FURIA Academy only last month after impressing during his time with DETONA Pound. He becomes the fourth player to be promoted to FURIA‘s main roster via the academy, after Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato, Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo and Rinaldo “ableJ” Moda Junior (who is retired from competition).

FURIA add a sixth player to their squad

FURIA coach Nicholas “guerri” Nogueira confirmed in September his plans to expand the team’s roster, describing this approach as “the future of CS”. He said that most of his players “really like this idea” and that FURIA “could be the [Brazilian] team that will have the most quality” in their six-man lineup.

FURIA will take on G2 in their first match in the BLAST Premier Global Final, scheduled for January 19. The double-elimination tournament will have a $1 million prize pool on offer.

With honda‘s addition, FURIA now have:

Brazil Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato
Brazil Yuri “yuurih” Santos
Brazil Andrei “arT” Piovezan
Brazil Vinicius “VINI” Figueiredo
United States Paytyn “junior” Johnson
Brazil Lucas “honda” Cano

Brazil Nicholas “guerri” Nogueira (coach)

Brazil Henrique “HEN1” Teles (benched)
