Isurus part ways with Jony BoY, caike

Jonathan “JonY BoY” Muñoz and Caike “caike” Costa have departed Isurus, the organisation announced on Saturday. The Brazilian joined the team in June, while the Argentinian was recruited in September in a move that marked his return to the South American scene after he had spent the previous two years competing in Spain.

Isurus manager Juan Manuel “mvk” Argogliosi explained that both players left for in-game reasons. “We believe that we can go even further adjusting the roles inside the server,” he told Isurus’ official website. “It is about strengthening the team with players with other characteristics.”

JonY BoY lamented that Isurus didn’t deliver on the promise of a long-term project

After the roster changes were announced, JonY BoY put out a Twitlonger stating that his departure was unexpected as Isurus had convinced him to join the team with the promise of a long-term project.

“Unfortunately, the initial idea was not fulfilled, and after three months I am informed that I will not continue in the team,” the Argentinian AWPer said. “We will see what the future holds for me and I will wait for time to put things in their place.”

caike posted a message on Twitter thanking Isurus for the experience and saying that he is open to offers.

During the pair’s time with the team, Isurus notably competed in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown, taking FURIA to three maps. The team ended 2020 with a runner-up finish in the FlowFiReLEAGUE Global Finals, where they lost the final to BOOM.

Isurus have also announced that the team will compete in Europe in the second half of 2021 and that all the players already have their visas. The roster currently looks as follows:

Argentina Nicolás “Noktse” Dávila
Argentina Roberto “reversive” Themtham
Argentina Marcos “deco” Amato

Argentina Rodrigo “pino” Manarino (coach)
