mousesports through to cs_summit 7 playoffs over Heroic

mousesports have secured a spot in the cs_summit 7 playoffs with a 2-0 victory over Heroic. The European mixture, who beat FaZe in their opener, struggled in the first half of their map selection, Train, but were quick to pick up the pace and get the best of their Danish rivals, who weren’t able to seal a comeback on Vertigo.

The European combine were able to kick off the series with a victory on their map pick, Train, despite a slow start that saw them go down 4-11 on the attacking side. A big part of the European squad’s success came from their in-game leader, Finn “karrigan” Andersen, who dropped a thirty bomb in the 16-12 victory.

A weak Terrorist side on Vertigo put Heroic up against the ropes, nine rounds down going into the defending side. Despite an incredible comeback after which they took a 14-12 lead, the Danes finally fell short in the closing stages of the map, losing the series 0-2, and will now have to keep fighting in group play for another shot at making the playoffs.

karrigan pulled through in the fragging department for mouz

Heroic secured the CT-side pistol round on Train, and although they were surprised in the following two rounds, the Danes were able to get a hold early on in mousesports’ map pick, not allowing the European combine any breathing room and giving up just four rounds in the first half.

A quad-kill by David “frozen” Čerňanský in the second pistol round kept his team in the running, and a 1vs4 clutch by the Slovak in the first gun round started to put mouz on the comeback path. After that the European team didn’t drop a signle round all the way to a tie, 11-11, and although Heroic regained the lead, it was only momentarily as karrigan led his team to victory with 32 frags, 16-12.

mousesports went on a tear early on in Vertigo, not giving their Danish rivals any room and winning the first seven rounds while only allowing the bomb to go down once. It was finally on an A play in the eighth round that Heroic were able to get on the board, and although the Danes followed it up once, they quickly returned to being at the mercy of Robin “ropz” Kool and company, who closed out the first half with a 12-3 lead.

Heroic secured the CT pistol round to stay alive, bringing the map back to a contested affair in a flash as they tied it up 12-12. Casper “cadiaN” Møller and company continued to charge ahead, taking a 14-12 lead, but a final push by mouz stopped the Danes in their tracks as they regained the lead and went on to take the map 16-14, ending the series to secure a spot in the cs_summit 7 playoffs.
