Snow Sweet Snow 1 reaches semi-finals

Snow Sweet Snow 1 has reached the semi-final stage following the conclusion of the quarter-finals, which saw the four directly invited sides win their respective series after entering the competition late.

Keeping their unbeaten streak alive with 15 consecutive map wins and nine consecutive series wins, Virtus.pro eliminated Endpoint with landslide victories on Dust2 (16-7) and Mirage (16-4), with Mareks “YEKINDAR” Gaļinskis leading the way as he averaged a 1.86 rating in the best-of-three affair.

Virtus.pro’s undefeated run continues

On the same side of the bracket, Gambit put up a similarly convincing performance against the Epitacio “TACO” de Melo-led GODSENT to join their regional rivals Virtus.pro in the semi-finals.

The new ENCE squad under Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer‘s leadership had impressed in the previous stages of the tournament, but SAW ended the European mixture’s campaign in joint-fifth place on the back of a 10-2 Terrorist half on Train and an 11-1 defensive side on Nuke.

The Portuguese side will face off against FunPlus Phoenix next after Jesse “zehN” Linjala & co. came out on top of a nail-biting series against forZe, who were still playing with Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko after the benching of Dmitriy “facecrack” Alekseyev. In the quarter-final affair, FPX came back from a whitewash loss on Dust2 to beat the Russian side 16-14 on Nuke and 25-22 on Train after triple overtime.

The semi-finals and the grand final will take place on Wednesday, with the schedule looking as follows:
