Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer‘s career may not be at an end despite his imminent departure from FaZe. In a post-match interview following FaZe‘s dominant victory over Liquid, the 29-year-old revealed that he has not come to a final decision regarding his career prospects after the change to the international team’s roster comes to fruition.
“When I took the break with FaZe, that was my idea to think about what I want to do,” olofmeister explained. “I have retirement in my mind, but I haven’t decided on anything yet. I see a lot of people writing and I don’t want to say anything until it all becomes official, but I haven’t made my mind up yet, so I just want to say that.”
The statement from olofmeister comes after Marcelo “coldzera” David stated in recent interviews that the Swedish player was set on retiring. In an interview with HLTV.org published earlier on Friday, the Brazilian said that FaZe will soon announce a new in-game leader, who is understood to be Finn “karrigan” Andersen. The Danish player is currently without a team after being replaced by Christopher “dexter” Nong on mousesports.
olofmeister, who was named the best player of 2015, has gotten off to a strong start in the BLAST Premier Spring Groups, averaging a 1.36 rating in FaZe‘s win over Liquid. The team are next slated to take on Natus Vincere in the Group C upper bracket final on Saturday at 16:30 .
