Triumph bench cxzi; look to cynic – Report

The Premier team are making a change to their roster two months into the season.

Triumph have benched Danny “cxzi” Strzelczyk and are set to add Recon 5 member David “cynic” Polster to fill the gap, has learned.

According to sources close to the team, the change was made due to issues both inside and outside of the game. cxzi has been a part of the team since joining alongside Austin “Cooper” Abadir and Wesley “viz” Harris in January.

cynic is set to take cxzi’s place on Triumph

Since the formation of their current roster, Triumph have struggled to consistently post results – they currently hold a 3-0 record in ESEA Premier Season 36 but were eliminated in last place in DreamHack Open January, and have failed to win a single ESEA Cash Cup, often exiting the tournament before the top-four stage.

cynic has been a stand-out performer for Recon 5 in recent events, averaging a 1.27 rating over 35 maps since the start of the year. He was named as a player to keep an eye on by former Chaos coach Matthew “mCe” Elmore in an interview in January, and previously played alongside both Brendan “Bwills” Williams and viz on Levitate and Positive Vibes Only.

Triumph will make their debut with cynic in short order as they are set to take on Rebirth in ESEA Premier at 03:00
