The DreamHack Masters Spring Europe closed qualifier has come to an end after the second day of play on Friday, producing four teams advancing to the closed stage: Nordavind, K23, Movistar Riders, and VOYVODA.
The second day saw the final eight teams play out the spot-deciding quarter-finals after a number of fan favorites were eliminated from the tournament on Thursday, including MIBR, fnatic, EXTREMUM, and Sprout.
Movistar Riders earned their spot with a comfortable victory over Budapest Five in the round of eight, with K23 following soon after thanks to an overtime win on Inferno and a dominant showing on Overpass against Singularity.
Meanwhile, Nordavind and VOYVODA — a Bulgarian team featuring former MK core Viktor “v1c7oR” Dyankov, Simeon “dream3r” Ganev, and Kamen “bubble” Kostadinov — won their series in three maps, facing SG.pro and Hard Legion, respectively.
