ENCE have secured a convincing victory over Vitality on two maps (Nuke 16-10, Dust2 16-9) to guarantee themselves a spot in the playoffs of the tournament, sitting on a 3-1 record ahead of their last match against FaZe on Thursday at 19:00 .
“It’s a relief to be through already, tomorrow I think we’re playing for first place, and that’s a good spot to be in before the last match; we can play kind of without pressure,” Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer said in an interview on the broadcast shortly after ENCE defeated the Frenchmen.
The brand new squad led by Snappi have continued their stunning run in the league after starting the group stage shaky with a narrow victory over mousesports and a tough loss at the hands of NIP, having since handily beaten G2 and Vitality.
While in the previous series it was Lotan “Spinx” Giladi who led the way with several carry performances, this time the veteran duo of Snappi and Aleksi “allu” Jalli were at the top of the board on one map each, with the Dane recording a team-leading 1.29 rating on Nuke and the Finn a 1.73 rating on Dust2.
While the all-important top spot in the group is still up in the air, there is only one more playoffs spot on offer for one of Vitality and NIP, as G2 and ENCE have already locked a top-three placing before their final matches and mousesports and FaZe have been eliminated.
