G2 advance to IEM Cologne playoffs, Virtus.pro come back to send Complexity packing

G2 have advanced to the Group A upper bracket final on the back of a dominant victory over BIG in the second round, securing a spot in the IEM Cologne playoffs already ahead of their final group stage match against Gambit. Over in the lower bracket, Virtus.pro have ousted Complexity from the tournament after coming back from the brink of elimination on map two.

Complexity are the second team to exit the main event early after mousesports were eliminated at the hands of Liquid during the second day. The European side around Benjamin “⁠blameF⁠” Bremer will have a tough time accepting the loss after they were up 1-0 in the series and led 15-10 on Dust2, only to see the CIS squad come back to win in overtime and clinch the series in close fashion on Overpass.

The Kovačs have continued to lead the way for G2

Virtus.pro have moved on to the second round of the Group A lower bracket, setting up a matchup against NIP scheduled for Saturday at 20:00
