NAVI climb to No. 1 world ranking after IEM Cologne win

Natus Vincere has dethroned Gambit, claiming the title of the No. 1 team from their regional rivals thanks to an impressive trophy-lifting run at IEM Cologne.

Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov‘s team fell to the second spot in the ranking after a 14-week streak at the top, with their 5-6th place finish at the first LAN since March 2020 not enough to keep them on the throne going into the summer break.

How long can NAVI hold on to the No. 1 spot?

This is the fourth time Natus Vincere has reached the top of the rankings in the organization’s history, doing so previously in 2016, 2020, and at the start of 2021. However, each of their stints as No. 1 was short, adding up to a total of 19 weeks – just five more than Gambit managed this year.

Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and co. will have a chance to confirm their status as the best team in the world shortly after the summer break, as they participate in ESL Pro League Season 14 in August – September. At the same event, the CIS powerhouse could write history by becoming the third team to secure an Intel Grand Slam title.

In the rest of the ranking, Astralis,, and FaZe made forward strides after making playoffs in Germany, while Heroic, NIP, Vitality, mousesports, and OG fell a couple of spots.
