Qualifiers for FunSpark ULTI Asia Regional Series 2 announced

Details regarding 5E Arena Open Season 2 East Asia and Southeast Asia Season 2 tournaments, which will serve as qualifiers for FunSpark ULTI Asia Regional Series 2, were announced on Thursday by the tournament organizer. Each qualifying event will feature a $5,000 prize pool and three spots at the $15,000 Regional Series scheduled for June.

FunSpark ULTI Asia Regional Series 2 will feature 16 teams, including the winner of Series 1 TYLOO, and is a part of an $2,7M tournament series run in cooperation with Relog Media, Elisa Esports, and GRID.

More action for Asian teams is coming in May

In order to take part in the upcoming FunSpark tournament for Asia, teams from East and Southeast Asia must register for the competition on 5E Play before May 21, following the rules noted here. A team may only compete in one of the regions, with matches in the East Asia division played on Hong Kong servers while Singapore servers will be used for Southeast Asia.

Both competitions will use the same format, BO1 single-elimination matches will be played up until the quarter-finals, when BO3s will come into play. The winners of the semi-finals, as well as the third-place placed team in each region, will qualify for FunSpark ULTI Asia Regional Series 2.

Prize distribution for 5E Arena Open Season 2 East Asia and Southeast Asia Season 2 events:

LOOT.BET Season 9 announced |

LOOT.BET Season 9 will run on April 12 to May 16, UCC has announced, and will feature the same structure and prize pool as the previous iteration of the tournament, with a closed qualifier, Swiss stage and single-elimination playoffs.

HYENAS will participate at the event starting in the Swiss stage

The closed qualifier, running on April 12-15, will feature two academy teams, NAVI Junior and Astralis Talent, as well as GTZ Bulls and Case, with the winner earning a spot at the main event.

The Swiss stage will then kick off on April 17, with sixteen sides fighting for eight spots in the playoffs. Among the invited teams are Copenhagen Flames, SKADE, Endpoint, Movistar Riders, Galaxy Racer, Young Ninjas, Sangal LDLC, and HYENAS the Danish squad built around the former North trio of Nicklas “⁠gade⁠” Gade, Philip “⁠aizy⁠” Aistrup and Markus “⁠Kjaerbye⁠” Kjærbye.

The top eight participants will then move on to the single-elimination playoff bracket, where four invited teams that are to be announced shortly will await the Round of 16 winners in the quarter-finals. The ninth season will come to an end on May 16 with the best-of-three grand final that will grant the victor the $25,000 grand prize.

REPUBLEAGUE TIPOS Season 1 with $71,000 announced

Slovakian organizer REPUBLEAGUE has announced a new tournament series which is set to kick off with its first season, slated to take place from April 14 to June 13 and boasting approximately a $71,000 prizepool (€60,000) with a top-heavy distribution.

The event will have 16 teams in attendance, twelve of whom will be determined through invites and four via a series of Czech-Slovakian and European qualifiers, played over the course of the next two weeks.

The tournament will begin with a Swiss stage, which will run from April 14-May 12, followed by a double-elimination playoffs bracket on May 19-June 13.

Ten of the twelve invited teams have already been confirmed to participate, most of whom reside between the 20th-40th place in the team ranking: Winstrike, Sprout, Copenhagen Flames, Movistar Riders, SAW, Sinners, Anonymo, Endpoint, forZe, and Entropiq.

Fantasyexpo Spring Cup groups announced

Fantasyexpo has revealed the groups and the schedule for its Spring Cup, which will kick off on Tuesday. Eight teams will be taking part in this three-day competition for the chance to qualify for the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown.

FunPlus Phoenix (world No.15) and mousesports (No.19) headline the list of participants for the tournament, which will begin with a double-elimination, best-of-one group stage. The pair are joined by six qualified sides, most notably Sprout (No.24) and Endpoint (No.34).

The top two teams from each group will progress to the single-elimination, best-of-three playoffs. The tournament winner will receive a $25,000 participation fee to compete in the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown, joining a team list that includes the likes of Astralis, G2 and Gambit.
