motm leaves High Coast |

Ian “motm” Hardy has parted ways with High Coast and announced that he is now a free agent, bringing about an end to a one-month spell with the Ben “ben1337” Smith-led side.

The former Cloud9 entry-fragger began playing with High Coast at the start of March following his benching from Extra Salt but was only officially announced as a trial member towards the end of the month.

During his tenure as a part of the Swedish organisation, motm averaged a 1.12 rating, but the team as a whole continued to play second fiddle to Extra Salt and Bad News Bears. The former emerged as the victors in qualifiers for European events, while the latter recently qualified for ESL Pro League by winning ESEA Premier Season 36.

motm is no longer a part of High Coast

“Our situation is really complicated right now and I’m scrambling to figure things out before the roster deadline for the next season,” High Coast coach Joseph “Muenster” Lima explained when contacted by “Honestly, I’m really unsure about what’s going to happen and where things are going to go from here.

“Everyone is free to explore other opportunities if they chose which is what Ian is doing and I wish him luck in his search. He was a great teammate and amazing player and would be a great addition to any roster.”

High Coast are not among the teams signed up to compete in the first cs_summit 8 qualifier, set to play out from May 1-2. With the start of the next ESEA Premier season also nearing, ben1337‘s side will need to resolve their roster uncertainty in short order.

With motm‘s departure, High Coast have:

Extra Salt bench motm; look to MarKE

Extra Salt have benched Ian “motm” Hardy from their starting roster and are set to utilise Edgar “MarKE” Maldonado in his place, has confirmed.

The former Chaos member has been on the sidelines since the team disbanded at the start of the year, with two members switching to VALORANT, Erick “Xeppaa” Bach making his way to Cloud9, and Jonathan “Jonji” Carey creating a new roster with Bad News Bears.

MarKE will replace motm on Extra Salt

motm has averaged a 1.08 rating for Extra Salt, often being the team’s hard entry into sites on the T side while seeking out information with aggressive pushes on the defense. The roster kicked off the year by qualifying for DreamHack Open January, where they were surprisingly eliminated in third place following a pair of losses to Rebirth.

MarKE put up similar numbers for Chaos, averaging a 1.07 rating in his three months with the team, albeit against stiffer competition including the likes of Evil Geniuses and Liquid. knows he has been practicing with the team for a few days, although he has yet to sign with the organisation.
